The Meaning of the Word Salt
The Latin word for salt is sal, which in turn, is taken from the word sol. Sol is synonymous with the "sole," the water and salt solution and is the Latin word for sun. In a mythological sense, sole can actually be translated as "liquid sunlight," - the liquid form of the sun's energy responsible for creating and supporting life in the universe. From this alone, we can infer where life on Earth came from, from the sole of the primal oceans. The German word heilig (meaning holy) and which comes from the word heil (meaning whole) also has the same roots with the Celtic word for salt which is "hall." To further explore, hall also means sound, in German, "schall." The schall is a sound with a long hall, which means echo or reverberation in German, including vibration. Had we known about the relationships of these words before, then we would have said "please pass me some vibration," when what we really meant was "please pass me some salt."
