Bulbs, Cords & Timers

If you’ve ever tried to find a replacement bulb for your salt lamp you know how challenging it can be.  Finding a salt lamp bulb comes down to three things: the wattage of the bulb, the size and type of base and the size and shape of the bulb.  For lamps 30 pounds and less we recommend 15 Watt bulbs.  For lamps above 30 pounds we recommend 40 Watt bulbs.  Salt lamps require a E12 Candelabra Base.  The bulb shape is important so that it fits through the bulb opening in the base of the salt lamp: for salt lamps under 30 Watts,  this means a T7 Bulb Shape works best and for larger lamps, a CA10 Bulb Shape should be your choice.

When it comes to replacement cords for your salt lamp, SpiritualQuest offers both a standard cord and a dimmer cord.  We recommend a dimmer cord, especially for large salt lamps.  Dimmer cords allow you do adjust the intensity of the salt lamp to maximize the beautiful color striations that are distinctive to Himalayan salt lamps.  This means you can brighten or dim your lamp depending on ambient lighting conditions and the mood you are trying to achieve.  Both cords feature our EZ Clip bulb socket which makes installing your bulb a breeze.  Our timer outlet allows you to control when your light display goes on and off.

All of our bulbs and cords are UL listed for your safety.  SpiritualQuest maintains a stock of these so that you can replace them at your convenience.  These bulbs are hard to find in the stores, so we advise you to order in advance so that your lights will always be on.

Frequently asked questions

We’re not sure. We think it probably has to do with the phasing out of incandescent bulbs. The good news is that we keep a large stock of both 15 watt and 40 watt bulbs.

Do NOT use water, or other liquid cleaners to clean your salt lamp except in moderation. Your salt lamp is made from salt and will dissolve (at least on the surface) if you wet it. We recommend you try a dry cloth or a feather duster to see if that will clean your salt lamp sufficiently. If more cleaning is necessary, then use a slightly damp cloth and lightly dab the salt lamp. Do not scrub your salt lamp, with any cloth, even if it’s just slightly damp, and make sure you thoroughly dry your lamp afterwards.
