Absolutely—as long as it uses an UL certified cord. There are several benefits to leaving your salt lamp on all night. It will keep your lamp constantly warm so that it can generate negative ions on a full-time basis. It will also help keep your lamp from sweating. Keeping your salt lamp on 24/7 will have very minor impact on your electric bill as the internal bulb is 40 watts or less—expect an annual cost of less than $10 to keep your salt lamp on all night.
This is mostly a personal choice as to where you think it would look best. To maximize the benefits of its natural ions, you’ll want to place your salt lamp as close to you as makes sense and as far from any window or door openings as practical. Prime locations for salt lamps are in your bedroom, on your desk, in the living room close to any electronics you have and near your kitchen appliances.
Himalayan Salt comes in several grades. Spiritual Quest uses the finest grade salt for its superior color striations.
Salt attracts moisture. All salt lamps are shipped via ocean freight which can be very humid and negatively impact the salt lamp. Spiritual Quest shrink wraps/poly seals its salt lamps with moisture absorbers to protect it from the elements.
